Punta Este Hiking Tour

Embarking on the Punta Este hiking journey offers a captivating exploration of cliffs, enchanting golden dunes, and breathtaking views overlooking the South Atlantic.

Activity Overview

The adventure commences at the parking area of Paraná Beach. After gathering, we will dedicate approximately 5 minutes to discuss the historical and geological context of the area, shedding light on how these landscapes preserve remnants of a distant era. Once informed, we’ll embark on our hike!

Our trek will start with a gentle ascent that lasts about 30 minutes, guiding us towards a cliff where the breeze carries the salty fragrance of the sea. As we navigate this ochre terrain and fossil-infused sands, the magnificent panorama of Golfo Nuevo will unfold, presenting a stunning natural backdrop.

Upon reaching the first viewpoint, we’ll pause to admire the horizon, where the distant skyline of Puerto Madryn awaits. With a touch of fortune, we may even witness sea lions frolicking in the surf or glimpse coastal birds soaring by, including gulls, cormorants, and oystercatchers.

Our journey proceeds toward the captivating marine gypsum ravines, spending around 40 minutes navigating through this otherworldly landscape. This striking white stone, formed over countless centuries, creates a maze of shimmering folds that envelop us. Here, we will uncover the mystique of the Punta Este petroglyphs, those mysterious symbols that ignite the imagination.

Following this exploration, we will make our way to the tranquil low-tide pools, where a peaceful 30 minutes awaits. We’ll be captivated by how the sunlight glistens off these natural basins, resembling exquisite marine treasures. This moment will surely be memorable!

To conclude our expedition, we’ll take a more direct path back to our starting point. Upon arrival, we’ll say our farewells after a nearly 2-hour adventure.
