Buritaca River Excursion

At the specified time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Santa Marta to kick off this scenic expedition through the stunning landscapes of the Sierra Nevada.

Our adventure begins with a visit to Quebrada Valencia. Here, a short 30-minute hike will lead us to breathtaking surroundings, followed by two hours of free time for you to explore the enchanting beauty of the area, highlighted by impressive waterfalls.

Next, we will travel to the mouth of the Buritaca River, where you will enjoy another two hours at your leisure. For those seeking excitement, there is an option to rent tubing gear to navigate the river’s exhilarating rapids. Alternatively, you can opt to swim in the river while admiring the diverse wildlife and plant life in this serene environment.

When it’s time to refuel, you’ll find various restaurants nearby where you can savor a tasty meal.

At the conclusion of our 8-hour trek, we will return to Santa Marta and bid you farewell at your hotel.

Itinerary Changes

Kindly note that in the event of rain or if the river levels are low, we may replace the visit to Quebrada Valencia with another location or provide you with additional free time at the Buritaca mouth.
