Minca, often referred to as the ecological heart of the Sierra Nevada in Santa Marta, invites you to explore its stunning landscapes. This tour will take you on a captivating hiking journey, where you can visit breathtaking waterfalls and immerse yourself in lush tropical forests and natural pools, ideal for a revitalizing swim. Prepare for an unforgettable experience!

Tour Overview

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Santa Marta, or you may choose to meet in Minca directly. This quaint town, celebrated as the ecological capital of the Sierra Nevada, showcases some of the region's most picturesque waterfalls—an ideal starting point for our exploration.

Once we gather, we will board an off-road vehicle designed to navigate trails abundant in wildlife and plant life as we traverse the humid tropical rainforest. After a scenic ride, our hiking expedition will commence. We will trek for approximately 20 minutes to the stunning Marinka Waterfalls 1 and 2, both reaching heights of 98 ft (30 m). Here, you will have 1 hour to enjoy a refreshing dip amidst the breathtaking surroundings of the tropical jungle.

Next, we will continue our hike for about 50 minutes towards the Oído del Mundo waterfall, a sacred site for the indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada, where you can absorb the profound significance of this special location.

After spending 1 hour enjoying the cool waters of the waterfall, we will proceed on a 45-minute hike to Casa Jocolate, where a delicious homemade lunch featuring vegetarian and vegan choices awaits us.

After our meal, participants can dive into an artisanal chocolate workshop, a unique experience designed to engage your senses and deepen your connection to the Sierra Nevada. You will have the opportunity to savor flavored cacao, such as Bailey's and caramelized varieties, and even craft your very own chocolate bar.

As our adventure concludes, we will return to our starting point, wrapping up an enriching day over a span of 8 to 9.5 hours.

Pickup & Schedule

When making your reservation, please specify whether you wish to commence the tour from Minca or Santa Marta:

• Tour from Santa Marta: pick-up will be arranged from your hotel between 7:45 am and 9:20 am.
• Tour from Minca: we will gather at Puente de Minca at 9:40 am.
