Description
After being picked up from your hotel in Santander, you'll head to the south of the city to the Cabarceno Nature Park. After around a 30-minute journey, you'll arrive at this unique space where animals live in semi-free conditions.
The park's 1,900 acres of land are located in a reclaimed former iron mine which is now a beautiful example of the area's impressive dramatic karst landscape. As a centre for environmental education as well as conservation, the park is home to over one hundred different species of animals from five continents, including gorillas, tigers, bears, elephants and birds of prey.
Enjoy a minibus tour of the main areas of Cabarceno, delving deep into the natural scenery and discovering the incredible animals that you pass by. A truly unforgettable experience for children and adults!
You can also take a ride in the park's cable car, from where you'll get some spectacular views from up high over Cabarceno Park.
Once you've visited the park, you'll return to Santander.

If you're staying in the centre of Santander, you must indicate the name and address of your hotel when you book and we'll pick you up. If your hotel is outside Santander, you'll need to make your own way to the meeting point.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You will embark on a guided excursion to Cabarceno Nature Park that includes a hotel pick-up service if you are staying in central Santander. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to explore a range of habitats and observe over 100 species of animals in semi-free environments.

Meeting point:
If your hotel is in the centre of Santander, please provide the details when booking. For hotels located outside the city, you will need to reach the designated meeting point on your own.

Your tour guide will contact you directly to confirm the exact pick up time from your hotel in the centre of Santander.
If your hotel is not in Santander city centre, you should instead go to the meeting point: Exploring Cantabria, 49 Calle Castelar (near ther Palacio de Festivales). Please be at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the start of the activity.
Pets
Dogs are allowed in the park provided they are properly leashed and controlled. Access to the restaurants, the gorilla building and the corridor around the sea lion pool is limited (except for guide dogs).
Access to the gondola lift and the park's internal bus service (when operational) is subject to the following conditions:
1. The pet must travel in a special carrier provided by the owner or person responsible for the pet.
2. It's completely forbidden to transport the animal outside of these transport elements.
3. The transport of these animals is the responsibility of their owners, who must travel with the animal.
4. In the case of the cable car, only one pet per cabin is allowed. However, this number may be increased if the pets belong to the same family unit travelling in the gondola lift.
5. Exceptions are the breeds indicated in Cantabria Decree 69/1999, of 11 June, which regulates the keeping of guard and defence breed dogs and in Royal Decree 287/2002, of 22 March, which implements Law 50/1999, of 23 December, on the legal system for the keeping of potentially dangerous animals.
