Tour Overview

Your journey begins at a time of your choosing, as we gather in front of the Royal House Museum to embark on a guided exploration of Santo Domingo's Colonial City. This itinerary encompasses the key historical landmarks in the oldest sector of the country’s capital.

Initially, we will visit the Basilica Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, the oldest cathedral across the continent of North America. Upon admiring this extraordinary structure, commissioned by Charles V, we will proceed to discover Fortaleza Ozama, recognized as the first fort established by Europeans in the Americas.

Our walk will then take us down Las Damas Street, where we will pause to appreciate the House of Rodrigo Bastidas, a notable figure who played a key role in establishing several South American cities. Along the way, we will also observe the historical residences of Nicolás de Ovando and Dávila, enriching our understanding of the colonial period in Santo Domingo.
