Tour Overview

Upon reserving, you may select from the routes outlined below. All options feature pickup service from central Shanghai hotels and are accompanied by an English-speaking guide. Detailed descriptions for each choice are provided afterwards.

Morning Adventure (4 Hours)

Your tour will commence with pickup from your Shanghai hotel at the specified time, followed by a visit to the renowned Jade Buddha Temple, the most distinguished Buddhist temple in the city. Constructed during the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty, this temple houses an invaluable array of jade statues originating from Burma. You will gain insight into the lives of the resident monks and discover its role as the home of the Shanghai Buddhist Institute.

Our next destination will be the Fresh Water Pearl Gallery, where you'll witness the intriguing process of pearl farming. Following this, we will visit People Square, a sprawling green oasis filled with lush flora, where you may even enjoy feeding doves!

Our journey will then lead us to the Shanghai Museum, which boasts an impressive collection of over 120,000 artifacts spanning various historical epochs in China, including bronze pieces, ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, sculptures, ancient coins, jade carvings, and historical furniture. We suggest renting an audio guide to enrich your 1.5-hour stay at the museum.

After a 4-hour exploration, we will return you to your hotel.

Afternoon Exploration (4 Hours)

Your afternoon journey begins with pickup from your Shanghai hotel at the specified time, followed by a delightful traditional Chinese lunch that allows you to savor local flavors.

Post-lunch, we're off to uncover the city's iconic landmarks. Our first stop will be the enchanting Yuyuan Garden, where the stunning pavilions and tranquil ponds leave a lasting impression. We will then visit Shanghai Old Street, where you can explore local shops and eateries, while learning about the street's history dating back to the Ming Dynasty.

We will proceed to the Bund, a striking contrast between old and contemporary Shanghai, recognized as one of the city’s most famed locales. Did you know that this 4-kilometer (2.4-mile) promenade was once the heart of Shanghai’s financial sector?

Our journey continues with a visit to the silk factory, where you will gain insights into silk manufacturing, which has thrived since the 14th century. If you wish, you will have the opportunity to purchase silk products.

Next, we’ll take a scenic drive through the former French Concession District, followed by a leisurely walk through Shanghai’s entertainment zone, Xin Tian Di. The historically preserved brick buildings in this area now house stylish clubs, dining options, and boutiques, providing you with some free time to explore.

After 4 hours of exploration, we will return to your hotel.
