Hiking Overview

At the agreed moment, we will collect you from your accommodation in Ushuaia and head along Ruta Nacional 3. Here, we will arrive at the starting point of the trail to Laguna Esmeralda. Are you ready to begin the journey? Let's get started!

Our adventure initiates with a 5-kilometer (3-mile) trek towards the lagoon. As we walk, the lush greenery of one of the richest forests in Tierra del Fuego envelops us. The majestic Olivia and 5 Hermanos mountains will provide a breathtaking backdrop as dusk approaches. We’ll take a moment to pause, capturing photographs and hydrating while sharing insights about the local ecosystem.

As we proceed, be prepared for the moment when the Laguna Esmeralda comes into view. The lagoon’s vibrant turquoise waters will glow beautifully under the gentle rays of the setting sun, creating a truly unforgettable scene!

Upon our arrival, we will explore the shores of the lagoon, taking in the surroundings before heading to a mountain refuge for a delightful dinner. Relish a hearty lamb and vegetable stew, complemented by bread, olives, salami, and hams. For beverages, choose from wine, coffee, or mate. A true treat!

Post-dinner, we’ll prepare with flashlights and embark on our return hike along the same 5 kilometers (3 miles) through the forest. Under the shimmering night sky, we'll take breaks for resting and capturing nocturnal photos. The southern nights of Tierra del Fuego will enchant you!

In the end, we will return to the vehicle and make our way back to your hotel in Ushuaia, concluding our adventure after approximately 6 hours together.
