Enjoy a relaxing day afloat in the beautiful Venetian Lagoon. We'll travel by boat to two of the most beautiful islands located here: Murano and Burano. On the first island, you'll have the chance to watch a live demonstration of traditional glassblowing.

Boat to Murano & Burano

We'll meet at the indicated time at a central pier in Venice and board our tour boat, which will take us around the beautiful Venetian Lagoon.

After a relaxing cruise across the Venetian lagoon, during which the multilingual guides will teach you about its history, we'll make our first stop on the island of Murano, famous for its traditional glass-making industry which dates back to the Middle Ages. There, we'll stop for about 45 minutes and visit a glass factory. We'll watch a live demonstration to learn a bit more about this ancient art.

Continuing on our boat tour, we'll head to the fascinating island of Burano. Here you'll have approximately an hour and a half of free time to explore its patchwork of colored houses and its great cultural and artistic heritage. This island is known especially for its crochet work and lace, or merletti, as it's called here. You'll be able to visit one of the famous museums, such as the lace museum, and the many shops that sell this beautiful craft.

We'll regroup at the Burano pier to return to Venice. We'll finish our activity at the Santa Lucia Pier or at the Riva degli Schiavioni Pier, whichever you prefer.

Pickup & Drop-Off Points

When making your reservation, you'll be asked to select one of the following pickup and drop-off locations for the tour:

Santa Lucia pier (Ponte della Costituzione): departure at 10 am
Riva degli Schiavioni pier: departure at 10:30 am

Please keep in mind that if you make your booking on the day of the activity, you must do so before the times indicated.

If you start from Riva degli Schiavioni and you prefer to end the tour in Santa Lucia, you'll have to pay an extra fee of 10EUR on the day of the tour. If you start in Santa Lucia and you want to finish in Riva degli Schiavioni, you won't have to pay extra fees.

Please keep in mind that on some occasions, for logistical reasons, the activity may end at the port of Tronchetto. In this case, we'll explain how to get to Piazzale Roma.

How Does It Work?

On this tour, you will embark on a scenic boat ride through the Venetian Lagoon, visiting two iconic islands: Murano and Burano. The tour includes:

Live demonstration of glassblowing on Murano.
Free time to explore the unique colorful houses and local lace crafts in Burano.

What's not included:

Meals and drinks.
Museum entrance fees, unless specified.

We will gather participants at two locations with specified departure times to maximize your experience in this picturesque region.

Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour is due to begin to validate your ticket. If you arrive at the incorrect meeting point, the local tour provider reserves the right to cancel the tour.

You'll be able to recognize the tour leaders by their Vidali Group light blue signs with the name LAGOON TOURS in capitals. The boat is blue with the name Consorzio Vidali Group written on it.

You'll meet your guide at one of the following points, depending on the tour you've chosen:

Santa Lucia Pier, Ponte della Costituzione (https://goo.gl/maps/aSfbjT7yTKM2X8t8A), next to the KFC restaurant at Santa Lucia Station. The meeting time will be at 9:45 am, and departure will take place at 10 am. If you choose this starting point, please note that the tour will end at Riva degli Schiavioni. If you wish to return to Santa Lucia, you'll need to pay an additional charge of 10EUR per person.

Riva degli Schiavioni Pier, in front of Palazzo Cornoldi, at Vidali Group Meeting Point "Caserma Cornoldi" (https://goo.gl/maps/yZTD4998xaE1rB9A7). The meeting time will be at 10:15 am, and departure will take place at 10:30 am. Even if you depart from the Riva degli Schiavioni pier, please note that you can finish in Santa Lucia and vice versa.

Know Before You Go

Comfortable clothing and footwear are recommended for the visit
The tour will be conducted in several languages
In case of rain, the tour will go ahead as planned. We recommend bringing appropriate clothing such as a waterproof jacket or raincoat
If you're on the 12 pm or 12:30 pm tour, free time in Murano will be 1.5 hours. If most of the group expresses a preference to stay longer for lunch, the stop could be extended to a maximum of 2.5 hours. The schedule will be decided at the start of the tour and announced on board
The tour's end time may vary slightly depending on the length of the Murano stop and possible water traffic. In the case of a longer stop, the tour will end at 7 pm at the San Marco Cornoldi meeting point, and at 7:30 pm at the station area meeting point. We therefore recommend not booking trains or flights too close to the tour's end time
