Day Excursion to Hallstatt

At the agreed time, we'll collect you from your chosen Vienna hotel. Our journey will take us through the breathtaking landscape of the Salzkammergut region.

After a scenic drive of approximately 3.5 hours, we will arrive in Hallstatt, a charming village tucked away in the Austrian Alps that will enchant you from the outset. This village served as an inspiration for the Frozen Kingdom in the animated film Frozen, and it’s easy to understand why... Its beauty is undeniable! With the guidance of our expert, we'll embark on a tour that spans 700 years of history, wandering through historic Alpine pathways that have seen significant events while marveling at the intricate architecture of the buildings and the church.

You will then enjoy approximately 1.5 hours of leisure time to savor lunch and further discover the village.

To conclude the journey, during the summer months, you can bid farewell to Hallstatt with a delightful boat excursion on the lake. For tours outside the summer season, we will visit the notable Bone House at the Chapel of St. Michael. This remarkable site, known for housing over 600 beautifully decorated skulls, has its origins in the 12th century.

In the end, we’ll return by bus to the Austrian capital, arriving approximately 13 hours later, with a drop-off near the Vienna State Opera.

During the reservation process, a dropdown menu will display various pickup times and hotels located in central Vienna. Please select one of these options. If your accommodation is not listed, or if you make a booking within 24 hours of the excursion, we will meet you at a point close to the Vienna State Opera at the designated time.

Hallstatt and Melk Abbey Day Excursion

For this experience, we will meet you at the Vienna State Opera to embark on a scenic drive through the captivating Salzkammergut region, where picturesque hills, quaint villages, and glimmering lakes form a truly idyllic panorama.

On our journey, we’ll pause at Melk Abbey for photography and to appreciate one of Austria’s most renowned landmarks. This Benedictine monastery is situated on the banks of the Danube River and was established in the 11th century.

The trip will then proceed to Hallstatt, where you'll have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the village at your leisure. This option includes a digital audio guide in English for your tour.

In the afternoon, we will return to the meeting point in Vienna.
