Your day begins with a pickup at your hotel as we set out towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a region renowned for its stunning landscapes.

Our first destination is the charming town of Maras, noted for its preserved colonial architecture and stunning vistas. From Maras, we will make our way to the Moray archaeological site, situated at an impressive altitude of 3,500 meters (11,500 feet). This location is thought to have served as an experimental agricultural site for the Incas over five centuries ago. Here, the intriguing circles of terraced amphitheatres await, revered for their connection to feminine energy!

Next, we'll ascend to a vantage point overlooking the salt mines of Maras, which trace back to the Inca era and are pivotal to the narrative of the Sacred Valley. This site encompasses over 3,000 salt evaporation ponds, each crafted by local families. During the dry months, the salt is enriched with iodine and marketed commercially.

Finally, we will return to our original meeting point to conclude our enriching excursion.

Pickup

Please be aware that pickups are limited to the Plaza de Armas in Cusco or local accommodations within the historic centers of Urubamba, Ollantaytambo, or Yucay. If your lodging is in a more distant area, we will reach out prior to the tour to arrange a convenient alternative meeting spot.
