Pucón Parasitic Craters Hike

At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Pucón and head towards an area of the Andes characterized by temperate forests nestled at the base of the famed Villarrica Volcano, the most active in Chile. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the spectacular parasitic craters.

These unique depressions, shaped by volcanic activity, contribute to a captivating scenery that enchants all who visit. Our adventure includes a 5-mile (8-kilometre) trek that will take approximately 3 to 4 hours.

As we traverse through trails featuring varied terrains, ranging from dense forests to rugged volcanic landscapes, you'll witness the craters and enjoy breathtaking panoramic vistas of the Villarrica, Llaima, Sollipulli, and Quetrupillán volcanoes.

On our ascent to the craters, we'll encounter the nearby glacial lakes, including the picturesque Villarrica, Caburgua, and Calafquén, which are beautifully framed by verdant Andean woodlands.

After our hike, we will make our way back to the starting point, concluding with a drop-off at your hotel in Pucón approximately 5 hours later.
