Day Trip to Anchieta

Your adventure begins as we depart from your hotel, following the scenic coastal road traveling south.

After approximately 1.5 hours on the road, we will reach Anchieta. This city, named in honor of the renowned José de Anchieta, has a fascinating backstory. Anchieta was a Spanish priest from Tenerife who came to Brazil in 1553 with the aim of aiding the Native American communities. His deep connection with the indigenous peoples led him to learn their language and advocate against the injustices perpetrated by colonizers.

Our journey will take us to the National Sanctuary of San José de Anchieta, where we will explore the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and a former Jesuit residence constructed in 1579. This site is of significant importance and holds a special place in the hearts of the local Catholic community.

Next, we will travel to the Iriri region, where you will enjoy 2 hours of leisure time to visit the idyllic beaches of Costa Azul and Areia Preta. Feel free to unwind by sunbathing, snorkeling, swimming, or savoring a refreshing drink at one of the beachfront restaurants.

Concluding our visit to Iriri, we will journey back to your hotel, ensuring your arrival is scheduled for 7 hours after the initial pickup.
