The Royal Château de Blois rises above the Loire River and serves as an essential landmark for exploring the history of France from the 13th to the 18th centuries. This architectural gem showcases a blend of styles, including Gothic, Baroque, and French Renaissance. The skip-the-line entrance allows visitors to explore its many rooms and learn about its history at their own pace.
This château's intriguing past is intertwined with seven kings and ten queens of France, organized into four principal sections: remnants of the old medieval fortress alongside the wings of Louis XII, François I, and Gaston d'Orléans. Within these wings, you can admire the elegantly decorated quarters of the monarchs throughout history.
A visit also includes the oratory and the Council Chamber, which were specifically designed for receiving dignitaries who visited Blois to discuss various international treaties with France.

- From April 1 to September 30, 2026: 9 am to 6:30 pm
- October 10 to 16, 2026: 9 am to 6 pm
- October 17 to November 1, 2026: 9 am to 6:30 pm
- November 2 to December 18, 2026: 10 am to 5 pm
- From December 19, 2026, to January 3, 2027: 10 am to 6 pm
Final admission is granted 30 minutes prior to closing.
Note: On September 12, 2026, the castle will be open from 9 am to 4:30 pm.
Avoiding Lines
By purchasing this ticket, you can bypass the queues that regularly accumulate at the ticket offices of Château de Blois. Nonetheless, please be aware that entering the monument may require some waiting due to security checks.

The Château de Blois is open Monday through Sunday during the following hours:

How to get to the castle
- By car: A10 freeway or national road RN 152. There are several parking lots next to the Château, such as the one on Avenue Jean Laigret or Valin de la Vaissière. The one on Avenue Wilson is for motorhomes.
- By train: the Gare d'Amboise-Chambord train station is only a 5-minute walk from the Château.
Accessibility
Visitors with disabilities can access the castle free of charge. Free admission is also offered to the guide for people in wheelchairs, people who are blind or visually impaired, or when support is necessary and noted in the supporting document.
At Place du Château, 2, there are parking spaces for persons with reduced mobility (PRM, in French), as well as toilets designed for people with disabilities; they are located at the back of the courtyard, on the right. They can be reached through the first floor of the Francis I wing.
Wheelchairs are available for loan, about which you can inquire at the reception desk. Seating is available in all rooms. Throughout the visit, dogs accompanying people with disabilities are allowed on the monument grounds.
The accessible areas for wheelchair users are: the courtyard, the chapel, the first floor of the Francis I wing (architectural rooms), the outdoor areas (slightly inclined) and the store. Explanatory signs for visitors are available in the reception area, as well as a magnetic loop system for the hearing impaired.
