Itinerary for the Day Trip

We will meet at your hotel in Chengdu at the scheduled time to commence our exploration of Sichuan's rich cultural heritage. Are you ready to uncover these distinct marvels in China?

Our adventure begins at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, situated about an hour's drive from downtown Chengdu. Here, you will embark on a 2.5-hour guided tour dedicated to understanding one of China's most cherished symbols.

Throughout your visit, encounter pandas across various ages, from charming pink cubs to full-grown adults measuring 4.92 ft (1.5 m). Observe the playful antics of these gentle giants as they climb, frolic, and relax in their habitat. It’s hard not to fall for these delightful animals!

Next, we will head south towards the awe-inspiring Leshan Giant Buddha, a remarkable statue that was meticulously carved over 1,200 years ago. After approximately 2.5 hours of travel, we will arrive at this monumental site overlooking the Min River. A brief stop will be made for lunch on your own before we continue.

During our 2-hour exploration of the Giant Buddha, which towers at an impressive 236 ft (72 m) and represents Maitreya, the Buddha of the future, we will be able to approach both the base and the head to admire its grandeur from multiple perspectives.

We will also take a moment to visit the nearby Lingyun Temple, a sacred site that will enhance our understanding of Buddhist teachings and the significance of this spiritual region in China, rich in history and symbolism.

As our excursion draws to a close, we will make our way back to Chengdu, concluding our experience near Tianfu Square after a full day of about 10 to 11 hours.
