Day Trip Overview

We'll convene at the Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel at the designated time to commence our journey through the enchanting province of Sichuan. Are you prepared to delve into the distinct allure of these major landmarks?

Our initial destination will be the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, conveniently located just a 40-minute drive from downtown Chengdu. Here, we will partake in a 2.5-hour guided tour dedicated to understanding this beloved species.

Throughout our visit, you'll encounter pandas at various stages of life, from endearing pink baby pandas to fully grown adults measuring 4.92 ft (1.5 m). Watch as these playful animals climb, frolic, and enjoy their restful moments- you’re sure to be charmed by their antics!

Next, we will head southward to admire the awe-inspiring Leshan Giant Buddha, a monumental sculpture hewn from rock more than 1,200 years ago. After approximately 2.5 hours of travel, we will arrive at this grand site beside the Min River. Before beginning our tour, a brief stop will allow you to grab lunch at your leisure.

Post-lunch, we will spend 2 hours exploring the area surrounding the Giant Buddha, which towers at a remarkable height of 236 ft (72 m) and embodies Maitreya, the Buddha of the future. We’ll traverse the cliffside path, descend the famed "Nine Curves" walkway, and reach the base of this majestic statue, providing an array of perspectives of its grandeur.

As our day comes to a close, we will begin our return journey to Chengdu and conclude with a farewell near Tianfu Square after a full 12 hours of exploration.
