Day Trip to Gocta Waterfall

At the agreed time, our adventure begins with a pick-up from your accommodation, followed by a journey to the north, heading towards the village of Cocachimba.

Upon arriving in Cocachimba, we will begin a 2-hour hike along scenic paths, where you can appreciate the stunning flora and fauna of the lush Peruvian jungle.

Our destination is the magnificent Gocta Waterfall, referred to locally as "La Chorrera," where you will be awestruck as the water cascades down the rocks from a remarkable height of 771 metres. This natural treasure was only uncovered in 2002, adding to its mystique!

On our return journey to Cocachimba, we’ll delve into the local legends that enrich the area, featuring captivating tales of mermaids and snakes that are said to guard the waterfall.

To conclude this memorable day, we’ll savor a delicious meal at a local establishment, which includes an appetizer, a main dish, and a drink. Finally, we will transport you back to your lodging in Chachapoyas, completing the experience approximately 9 hours after our departure.
