Hike to the Parasitic Craters of Pucón

At the scheduled time, our team will collect you from your accommodation in Pucón. Together, we will head towards a picturesque section of the Andes, characterized by temperate forests that lie at the base of the Villarrica Volcano, recognized as the most active volcano in Chile. Once we arrive, you'll be captivated by the astonishing parasitic craters in the area.

Formed by the flow of volcanic lava, these craters create a breathtaking scenery that enchants all who visit. You’ll engage in a rewarding 5-mile (8-kilometre) hike through this spectacular landscape, which is expected to last approximately 3 to 4 hours.

The trails will guide us through a variety of terrain types, transitioning from lush forests to more rugged volcanic zones. As we trek, you will have the chance to appreciate the craters as well as enjoy sweeping views of the prominent Villarrica, Llaima, Sollipulli, and Quetrupillán volcanoes.

Along the hike toward the craters, you'll also witness the stunning glacial lakes that dot this region of Chile. Notable among these are the Villarrica, Caburgua, and Calafquén, all embraced by verdant Andean woodlands.

Eventually, we will retrace our steps back to the hike’s starting point, after which we will return you to your hotel in Pucón, concluding our experience approximately five hours after we began.
