Pinhao, Lombo Branco & Sinagoga Hiking Experience

Your adventure begins with a pickup at your accommodation in Ribeira Grande at the arranged time, followed by a drive to Pinhao, a charming village that marks the start of our thrilling hiking trail.

As we trek at approximately 2,000 feet above sea level, you'll immerse yourself in the rich flora of Santo Antão island. Along the way, we will navigate streams and ascend hills, offering breathtaking views of lush green valleys. We'll also take moments to share intriguing tales about the various settlements encountered during our hike.

Our journey includes a visit to Lombo Branco, where you'll have the chance to observe local farmers and the diverse range of crops they cultivate, as well as the wildlife that populates the region, including cows, goats, horses, and donkeys.

The trail culminates in Sinagoga, once home to a Jewish community that resided in Santo Antão after their expulsion from Portugal. Sinagoga is particularly renowned for its natural pools, where, if conditions allow, you can enjoy a rejuvenating swim in the crystal clear waters.

Afterward, we will board the minibus for our return trip to your hotel, concluding the excursion after approximately 4 hours of exploration.
