Day Trip to Santo Antão Island

The journey begins at 9 am, when we’ll pick you up from your accommodation in Santo Antão for a tailored exploration of this captivating African island.

Our first destination will be the Cova de Paul, the largest crater in the archipelago, with a remarkable diameter of 1 kilometer. We’ll pause at a nearby viewpoint to admire breathtaking panoramic vistas, before proceeding towards the distinctive Delgadinho mountain ridge.

After a brief visit to the charming village of Povoacão, we will continue our adventure toward the island's northern tip. Here, a visit to the viewpoint of Ponta do Sol awaits, offering magnificent sights of the expansive Pacific Ocean. You'll also have the chance to engage with local fishermen, who will share their insights into the traditions of their craft!

Next, we will arrive at Fontainhas, which National Geographic recognizes as one of the ten villages globally with the most picturesque views! You’ll have some time to explore this beautiful village and sample the regional cuisine before we venture into the lush valley of Paul, renowned as one of the most stunning landscapes in Cape Verde.

Adding excitement to our itinerary, we’ll visit a distillery to learn about the production of grogue, Santo Antão's traditional rum. Our final stop will be at the historical Jewish village of Sinagoga, and by 4 pm, the tour will conclude as we return you to your hotel.

Distillery Access

The distillery is open exclusively from January 1st to May 31st. Please be aware that if your tour is scheduled outside these dates, we will omit this portion, resulting in a shorter tour duration.
