2-Day Trek to Mount Fitz Roy

Day 1: From El Calafate to Poincenot

Your journey begins with a pickup from your accommodation in El Calafate, followed by a scenic 3-hour drive to El Chaltén, the gateway to our hiking adventure.

Upon arrival, we will head to Hostelería El Pilar, marking the commencement of a self-guided hiking itinerary through the breathtaking terrains of Mount Fitz Roy. The initial 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) traverse alongside the Blanco River leading you to the Piedras Blancas glacier viewpoint. The path showcases a rich tapestry of Patagonian flora, featuring native species such asñires and lengas.

Next, you will encounter a fork that offers a detour of about 3 kilometers (2 miles) leading directly to the stunning Laguna de los Tres. Alternatively, you can choose to linger at this junction, soaking in the majestic view of the iconic Mount Fitz Roy needles, a favorite among rock climbing enthusiasts globally.

After enjoying the spectacular scenery, return to camp for a well-deserved dinner and a restful night in your tent as you prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Poincenot to El Calafate

Kick off your day with a hearty breakfast nestled at the base of Mount Fitz Roy, energizing you for the hike back to El Chaltén, where you will arrive by 5 pm. A minibus awaits to transport us back to El Calafate, concluding our adventure by approximately 8:30 pm.

Accommodation & Meals

This trekking experience includes 1 night of accommodation in double tents at Poincenot Camp. You'll enjoy dinner on the first evening, breakfast the following morning, and two picnic lunches throughout the journey.

Tickets Not Included

Please note that this activity does not cover the entry fee for the northern area of Los Glaciares National Park in El Chaltén. Detailed information for purchasing these tickets will be included in your voucher.
