Historical & Modern Beijing Private Tour
Description
Experience the charm of the hutongs, appreciate the historic temples, and navigate through the bustling business district, the Olympic Village, and the vibrant shopping avenues of contemporary Beijing.
Description
The journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel lobby at the scheduled time, where we will proceed to one of Beijing's oldest neighborhoods to explore the Drum Tower, a historical landmark that indicated the time in the city since the 3rd century.
Next, we'll wander through the hutongs, the city's ancient alleys, where you can observe the traditional lifestyle of the locals. To enhance this experience, we’ll ride a traditional rickshaw to navigate these captivating streets.
Our historical exploration will lead us to the Yonghe Temple, recognized as the most prominent Tibetan Buddhist temple located outside of Tibet.
Upon our arrival at Guomao, the skyscraper district, you will witness the incredible contrasts present in the city. Here, we will also take a break for lunch.
Post-lunch, the next stop is the Olympic Village, where we will marvel at the stunning architecture of the venues that hosted the 2008 Olympic Games, including the iconic Bird's Nest and the Water Cube.
The itinerary will then take us to China's National Centre for the Performing Arts, arguably Beijing's most renowned modern structure. Its design, universally nicknamed "The Egg", sparked significant debate and controversy for nearly two years.
As our tour concludes, we will pass through Wangfujing, Beijing's premier modern shopping street. While we suggest enjoying the vibrancy of this area at the tour's end, we can arrange transportation back to your hotel, completing our journey roughly 8 hours after the initial pick-up.
