Summer Palace & Temple of Heaven

Commencing from your hotel's foyer at the agreed time, we will embark on our journey northwest towards the Summer Palace.

Spanning over 290 hectares, the Summer Palace once served as a serene retreat for the emperors of the Qing dynasty during the sweltering summer months. Throughout our visit, we will delve into the intriguing sections of this vast estate, uncovering its rich history and captivating legends.

Following our extensive exploration, we will take a moment to enjoy lunch at a venue of your choosing.

In the afternoon, we will proceed to the Temple of Heaven, a monumental religious site and one of the largest sacred structures in China. Here, the emperor performed rituals to express gratitude to Heaven for bountiful harvests and to seek blessings for future crops.

Alongside the temple itself, the surrounding park presents a vibrant atmosphere where you may witness locals engaging in tai chi, playing cards, flying kites, and participating in dance classes.

Our tour will conclude with a visit to the Pearl Market, conveniently located next to the temple. While its name suggests it sells pearls, this market features a wide variety of clothing, accessories, jewelry, and various replicas.

We will wrap up the day by returning you to your hotel (or an alternate location) approximately 8 hours after our initial pickup.

During winter months, or if we conclude our tour ahead of schedule in the summer, we will also include a visit to the Beijing Olympic Village.
