Boat Transfer to the Cies Islands
While in Portonovo, take advantage of this exceptional chance to explore one of northern Spain's most remarkable destinations, the enchanting Cies Islands. The adventure begins with a boat ride to the spectacular National Maritime-Terrestrial Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia.
After a scenic thirty-minute sail across the Atlantic, we will reach the breathtaking Cies Islands. Upon arrival, you'll have the rest of the day at your leisure to fully appreciate the stunning natural landscape.
Here, you'll find beautiful beaches reminiscent of the Caribbean, unspoiled wild landscapes, and countless other delightful surprises within this protected area. Spend your day relaxing under the sun or dipping into the refreshing waters. For those seeking adventure, a variety of hiking paths await your discovery throughout the islands.
The return journey is scheduled between 5:30 and 6:50 pm, subject to the permits awarded by the Galician authorities during that season.
Return Schedule
The schedule for returning from the Cies Islands to the Portonovo port is outlined below:
- From June 13 to June 21, 2026: 5:30 pm
- From June 22 to August 15, 2026: 6:50 pm
- From August 16 to September 5, 2026: 5:30 pm
Permit from Xunta de Galicia
It's important to note that we can only obtain your permit from the Xunta de Galicia within the 30 days leading up to your visit. Once it is approved, we will forward it to you.
Camper Authorization
If you choose to camp on the Cies Islands, the campsite will be responsible for processing the required authorization, and must also cancel it if you change your plans. Should the campsite not cancel the authorization, the shipping company will be unable to refund your boat fare.
This means that to cancel your trip to the Cies Islands, you must first notify the campsite. Once they confirm the cancellation of your authorization, you should reach out to the shipping company (within the refund time frame) to cancel your boat tickets.
Moreover, once an authorization is linked to a shipping provider, it cannot be transferred to another company. Therefore, if you decide to cancel your booking with the current provider, you must also cancel your authorization before submitting a new one.

Important information
We'll meet at the selected time at the Cruceros do Ulla ticket office in the Port of Portonovo, located at Rua Rafael Picó, 48. Please arrive at least 10 minutes in advance.
Return Schedules
The return timetable from the Cíes Islands to the port of Portonovo is as follows:
- June 13 to June 21, 2026: 5:30 pm
- June 22 to August 15, 2026: 6:50 pm
- August 16 to September 5, 2026: 5:30 pm
Necessary documentation
The Cíes Islands are a protected archipelago with a daily quota of visitors, and in order to visit them, it is necessary to obtain authorization from the Xunta de Galicia (Galician Government) which will be processed by the local tour guide.
Please bear in mind that we can only request your permit from the Xunta de Galicia during the 30 days before your visit. Once it's been processed, we'll send it to you. You'll need to bring this permit with you, as well as this voucher.
Once the permit from the Xunta de Galicia has been processed, the provider will contact you to confirm the return time, which will be between 5:30 and 6:50 pm.
If you have made your reservation more than one month in advance, you must take into account that it'll be sent to you a few weeks before the visit.
If for any reason any of the people cannot attend the activity, you must give at least 15 days' notice and indicate the name and surname of the person who will be absent so that the Xunta de Galicia can remove them from the list.
From September 16 - March 26, it is not necessary to present the authorization, but it is obligatory to register your details on the official website of the Xunta de Galicia.
Ticket conditions
Tickets can only be issued up to 30 minutes before the departure of the ship and at the port of departure corresponding to your trip.
The ticket is null and void and has no value outside the day and time indicated on the ticket. The loss or misplacement of the ticket will result in the need to purchase a new ticket.
You must be at the dock 10 minutes before the departure and/or return time with your boarding ticket and the enclosed authorization to disembark in the Cíes Islands.
The company is entitled to modify the announced schedules and even suspend and cancel the trip for internal, technical-logistical, or organizational reasons, as well as for weather or force majeure. Likewise, it can make any kind of intermediate stopover.

Authorization for campers
If you decide to stay at a campsite on the Cíes Islands, the campsite itself must process the authorization, or cancel it in case you want to cancel. If the authorization is not canceled by the campsite, the shipping company cannot cancel your boat tickets.
Meaning, if you want to cancel your trip to the Cíes Islands, you must contact the campsite first. Then, once the campsite confirms that it has processed the cancellation of your authorization, you must contact the shipping company (within the stipulated refund period) so that they can cancel your boat tickets.
Also, once an authorization is associated with a shipping company, it cannot be linked to another shipping company. Therefore, if you cancel your reservation with this company, you'll have to cancel your authorization and then process a new authorization.
