Excursion to Talampaya National Park

Your adventure begins with a hotel pickup in San Juan at 7 am, as we set off to the northern part of the province. Our route leads us along the scenic National Route 150, taking us through the breathtaking landscapes of La Rioja until we arrive at the renowned Talampaya National Park.

Upon entering this extraordinary natural reserve, we will board an off-road vehicle for an exhilarating tour through the park. Prepare to venture into the Talampaya canyons and get ready to capture the stunning views with your camera!

Throughout the tour in Talampaya, you'll encounter the striking sandstone cliffs. In this area, numerous archaeological and paleontological artifacts have been uncovered over the course of the 20th century. We will share insights about the history of these discoveries as we traverse the expansive plains nestled between the canyon walls.

During our exploration, you'll have the opportunity to admire the remarkable geological formations of Talampaya, such as the Friar, the Wizard King, the Cathedral, the Chess Board, the Needles, the Manger, and the Castle. These unique shapes have been sculpted over millennia by the elements, resulting in truly awe-inspiring structures.

After enjoying three and a half hours amidst the wonders of Talampaya, we will board our vehicle or minibus for the return trip. During our journey back, we will make a stop at a local restaurant, providing you with one hour of free time to dine.

We will conclude our excursion with a return to your hotel in San Juan, expected to arrive around 9 pm.
