Description

Embark on a journey through two of the lesser-known yet striking locations in Lima with this engaging Chinatown Free Tour. Along the way, you will encounter the remarkable architecture surrounding the Presbítero Maestro cemetery.

Chinatown Free Tour

Your adventure begins at a time that suits you at Jiron de la Union station, setting the stage for an exploration of some of Lima's hidden gems.

The tour kicks off with a stroll through the vibrant streets of the historical center of Peru's capital, where you'll admire its colorful facades until you arrive at Lima's Chinatown. This area is significant as the original settlement of the first Chinese immigrants, which has evolved into a crucial economic and cultural hub for the community.

As we wander through the neighborhood, a diverse array of shops and local establishments will captivate you, allowing for an immersive experience in Chinese culture. From bustling restaurants and chifas to decor shops featuring New Year decorations, you'll feel as if you've traveled to an entirely different continent—all within the confines of Lima!

Next, we will take public transport to the Presbítero Maestro cemetery. This site serves as the resting place for Lima's elite and is renowned as one of the most opulent cemeteries in the world, featuring elaborate crypts, mausoleums, and marble pantheons.

Throughout the XIX and XX centuries, illustrious members of Peruvian and foreign high society found their final resting place here, including renowned politicians, writers, and artists whose legacies continue to influence the country.

After approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes of uncovering the fascinating stories of the capital, the tour concludes in downtown Lima.
