Excursion Overview

At the arranged time, a pickup from your hotel in Mindelo will commence, leading you to the port of São Vicente to board a ferry heading to Santo Antão. The hour-long ride presents breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Upon arrival at Porto Novo harbor, your local guide will greet you to initiate the tour of this rugged, mountainous isle, hailed as the greenest in Cape Verde. The first destination will be the Cova Caldera, soaring over 1,000 meters above sea level. Here, you will have 30 minutes to admire this ancient volcanic crater adorned with lush vegetation, recognized for its stunning landscapes!

Subsequently, we will proceed along the magnificent Delgadim Road. This winding path, bordered by steep cliffs, offers dramatic panoramic views of the island’s mountainous terrain. Be sure to capture the enchanting scenery at each turn!

Continuing our adventure along the coastal route, we will arrive at Ponta do Sol. You will enjoy a 40-minute exploration of this charming fishing village, characterized by bright houses and a serene seaside atmosphere. Our next stop will be Ribeira Grande, the island's principal town. Here, a 50-minute stroll through its cobbled streets allows you to appreciate its Portuguese colonial architecture.

Next, we delve into the lush realms of the Paul Valley, renowned for its sugarcane fields, coffee plantations, and tropical orchards. You will have two hours of free time to savor lunch and sample the island's traditional dishes.

After your meal, we will commence our return journey to Porto Novo, traversing the island’s scenic interior once more. Finally, we will board the ferry back to São Vicente, where a vehicle awaits to transport you back to your hotel in Mindelo.

This day-long excursion will conclude after approximately 10 hours.
