Description
Embark on a day trip to Mount Zugspitze departing from Munich! Experience breathtaking Alpine vistas as you ascend via cable car, followed by a charming descent using a rack railway.
Day Trip Details
Our adventure begins at Karlsplatz 21-24, where we'll gather at the designated time to commence a hike towards Zugspitze, renowned as Germany's highest peak. Let's set off!
During our 1 hour and 15-minute journey, you will absorb captivating stories and insights about this stunning part of the Bavarian Alps, which serves as the natural border between Germany and Austria. Upon reaching the Garmisch-Partenkirchen station, we will board a cable car for a swift 10-minute ascent to the summit of Zugspitze, soaring to a height of 2,962 meters (9,717 ft).
At the top, enjoy the freedom to explore this awe-inspiring location at your leisure. A highlight of the experience is the hike to the golden cross situated on top of Zugspitze, or take part in some exhilarating sledding down the glacier!
Do not miss the spectacular 360-degree panoramic views that showcase over 400 peaks across four different countries. Additionally, various cafes are available where you can unwind and savor a traditional Alpine meal while surrounded by incredible scenery.
When it's time to head back, we will gather once more to board the rack railway that will carry us to the base of the mountain. This historic train journeys through enchanting alpine landscapes, providing remarkable sights of lush meadows and pristine mountain streams—the ideal way to conclude our trip!
