Tres Cascadas Waterfall Hike
Description
Searching for outdoor activities close to Quito? Embark on an unforgettable hiking journey to the Tres Cascadas, combining the beauty of nature with an exhilarating adventure!
Activity Details
We will convene at Plaza Grande in Quito at the scheduled time, where our hiking expedition to some of Ecuador's most breathtaking waterfalls will commence.
Initially, we'll provide essential safety instructions for the journey ahead. Next, we will board the Ecovía bus to Playón de la Marín and continue with public transport until we reach the entrance of Cashapamba. Our adventure will lead us to the community of Loreto via another transport option.
Upon arrival, we’ll set off on a hiking trail lasting approximately 40 minutes, revealing the hidden treasures of the Ecuadorian highlands. Throughout our trek, we'll share insights into the local lifestyle, customs, and traditions.
Ultimately, we will arrive at the location of the Tres Cascadas ('Three Waterfalls') and uncover what makes them truly unique. Feeling hungry? We will pause to enjoy a tasty picnic lunch before proceeding with the tour.
Once re-energized, we will descend into the canyon that conceals these enchanting waterfalls. After a walk of about 30 minutes through a charming mountain forest, we will encounter the first of the waterfalls. Are you ready for some astonishing views?
If you wish, you can take a refreshing dip in the waters at the third waterfall. You will have some free time to capture photos and relax while soaking in the stunning surroundings.
At the conclusion of our hike, we will retrace our steps to the starting point, where transportation back to Loreto awaits us. Subsequently, we will take public transport back to Quito, culminating this experience in approximately 6 hours.
