Embark on a memorable boat excursion to Martín García Island departing from Tigre, where you can experience one of the most picturesque spots along the River Plate. This journey offers an opportunity to uncover Argentina's rich natural beauty and historical significance.

Boat Excursion to Martín García Island

Our adventure begins at 8:30 am with a gathering at the Estación Fluvial in Tigre, followed by boarding the boat at 9 am. Once everyone is settled, we will set off on an enchanting two-hour sail across the striking blue waters of the River Plate.

Upon our arrival, a guided tour awaits, allowing us to explore the key historical landmarks on the island. Here, nature harmoniously blends with history, showcasing one of the most stunning islands in the River Plate. Notably, this island is the sole dry border separating Argentina and Uruguay.

During our journey, we will observe the old military prison where Juan Domingo Perón was held in 1945. Our exploration will also include the Historical Museum, the Urquiza Theatre, the Stone Quarries, and an area known as Chinatown, characterized by its derelict houses enveloped in thick vegetation.

A highlight on our route is the House of Rubén Darío. At around 1 pm, we will pause at a local restaurant to savor a meal consisting of a barbecue accompanied by salad and a drink.

After lunch, you will enjoy 2.5 hours of leisure time to further discover the island at your own pace. We will reconvene at the dock at 5 pm, where we will board the boat returning us to Tigre.

The experience concludes at approximately 7:45 pm, back at our original meeting point.
