Experience a memorable boat journey to Martín García Island departing from Tigre, and explore one of the River Plate's most stunning locations. This adventure offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in both the natural beauty and historical significance of Argentina.

Boat Trip to Martín García Island

Our excursion starts at 8:30 am when we gather at the Estación Fluvial in Tigre for an onboard experience at 9 am. After everyone has boarded, we will embark on a spectacular 2-hour cruise across the vibrant waters of the River Plate.

Upon arrival, a guided tour will reveal the key historical landmarks of the island. Martín García Island harmoniously blends nature and history, making it one of the River Plate's most picturesque islands. Notably, it serves as the only dry demarcation between Argentina and Uruguay.

During the journey, we will view an historic military prison that notably housed Juan Domingo Perón in 1945. Our exploration will also take us around the Historical Museum, the Urquiza Theatre, and the Stone Quarries, alongside Chinatown, where time has hidden numerous abandoned homes beneath lush vegetation.

Among other highlights, we will visit the House of Rubén Darío. At around 1 pm, a break for lunch will lead us to a local restaurant where you can savor a barbecue meal accompanied by salad and a drink.

Afterward, you’ll enjoy 2.5 hours of leisure time to further uncover the island at your own pace. At 5 pm, we will reconvene at the dock to board the boat back to Tigre.

The excursion concludes at approximately 7:45 pm when we return to our original meeting point.
