Tour Overview

After picking you up from your accommodation in Cairo or Giza, we will proceed to the historic center of one of Africa's largest cities.

Our journey begins at the Cairo Citadel, an impressive medieval stronghold renowned as the city's most iconic non-ancient structure. Within its walls, we will admire the stunningly adorned Mohamed Ali Mosque, often referred to as the alabaster mosque due to the soft white stone encompassing it.

Continuing our adventure, we will head to the Khan el-Khalili market, famed for its intricate streets that resemble an open-air museum. Here, you will find an excellent selection of souvenirs and replicas of ancient Egyptian artifacts.

After exploring the market, we’ll take a break for lunch, featuring a variety of salads alongside a main dish served with rice and vegetables. We will conclude our meal with a refreshing fruit salad.

In the afternoon, we will dedicate an hour and a half to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, a globally significant institution showcasing Pharaonic heritage. Notable highlights include the Royal Mummies Hall, the Narmer Palette, colossal statues like those of Amenhotep III, alongside an extensive array of sarcophagi and treasures. Please be advised that this museum is distinct from the New Egyptian Museum.

We will also traverse through Coptic Cairo, a neighborhood with remarkable character, stopping by Al-Muallaqa, known commonly as the hanging church. This church is uniquely positioned atop the remnants of the Tower of Babylon. Finally, we will visit the church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus, also referred to as the cave church, where the holy family is said to have sought refuge after their journey to Egypt.

This memorable sightseeing tour will conclude back at your hotel approximately 8 hours after your pickup, having uncovered the key landmarks of Cairo.
