Your adventure will commence with a convenient pick-up from your accommodation in La Fortuna at 7:30 am. A bus ride of approximately an hour and a half will take us through the picturesque landscapes of the San Carlos Plains and the breathtaking Juan Castro Blanco National Park, leading us to the quaint village near the renowned Laguna de Hule.

This vast and striking lagoon lies at the foot of the Congo Volcano. Its formation, influenced by clay and volcanic rock, offers an exceptional venue for hiking and exploring its diverse scenery. We will embark on our trek by first navigating the meadows that envelop the volcanic crater, proceeding to descend into the verdant forest area. Along the 5-mile trail, we will encounter the three volcanic lakes that contributed to the creation of the volcanic caldera.

After a rewarding 3-hour hike, we will be ready to refuel, so we will visit a local Rican family's home, where they will serve us an authentic traditional lunch. Following this enriching cultural and culinary experience, we will conclude our day and return to your hotel in La Fortuna, arriving around 4:30 pm.
