At the designated time, we will meet at the specified location and head towards the climbing site. Are you ready to engage in a unique arctic journey?
Abisko is widely recognized as one of Sweden's top destinations for ice climbing, offering an incredible array of icefalls suitable for beginners as well as experienced climbers. The region's plentiful ice formations amidst the stunning backdrop of the Abisko Mountains and Lake Torneträsk create an unparalleled ice climbing experience.
To begin, you'll be fitted with your ice climbing gear, which includes alpine boots, crampons, a harness, and a helmet. Once equipped, a brief drive will take us to the icefall. Upon arrival, our experienced guide will instruct us on the fundamental techniques for ascending vertical ice and how to effectively use crampons and ice axes.
As we embark on our climbing adventure, our guide will provide support and motivation, ensuring you're comfortable every step of the way. Experience the exhilarating challenge of climbing the icefall while soaking in the breathtaking arctic landscape. We'll have ample opportunity to refine our techniques on various parts of the icefall, all surrounded by captivating natural beauty.
After approximately 3 hours of climbing, we will conclude this incredible journey and return to our starting point.

Informations importantes
On the day of the activity, we'll pick you up from the meeting point at the indicated time. Please be ready at least a few minutes beforehand.
The meeting point options and times are as follows:
- Abisko Mountain Lodge: at 9:30 am and 2 pm
- abisko.net/Hostel and Huskies: at 9:30 am and 2 pm
- Abisko Guesthouse: at 9:35 am and 2:05 pm
- STF Abisko Turiststation: at 9:40 am and 2:10 pm
- Björkliden - Hotell Fjället: at 9:50 am and 2:20 pm
- Björkliden – Gammelgården: at 9:50 am and 2:20 pm
- Björkliden - Camping: at 9:50 am and 2:20 pm
Important
Make sure you dress warmly with mittens or gloves, a hat (avoid hats with tassels or other adornments since you’ll need to wear a helmet), and warm pants and a jacket or overall. It’s recommended to bring a backpack so you can carry an extra sweater or adjust your clothing as needed based on how warm or cold you feel while climbing or standing by the icefall.
