Excursion Overview

At the designated time, we will collect you from your accommodation and embark on a venture towards the coast of Morocco, aiming to explore Essaouira.

As we travel, you'll be captivated by the beautiful scenery, crossing hills and charming Berber villages. Following a journey of approximately 2.5 hours, we will reach this UNESCO World Heritage site and initiate a guided exploration of its historically rich streets.

Essaouira is renowned for its well-preserved Medina, stunning blue and white architecture, and lively souks. These delights await you as we move through one of its three grand gates: Bab Sbâa, Bab Marrakech, or Bab Doukhala.

Among the vibrant streets lined with art galleries, unique shops, cafés, and eateries, we will encounter key landmarks, including the Clock Tower and the Ben Youssef Mosque. The mosque features a striking 66-metre-high (216-foot) minaret and exhibits intricate geometric designs paired with Islamic calligraphy within its prayer areas.

Our journey continues along Skala Street, leading us to the Skala de la Kasbah, a fortified area equipped with cannons aimed at the sea. Commissioned by Sultan Sidi Mohammed Ibn Abdallah in 1765 for protection, this location offers splendid ocean vistas.

Your next stop will be the port of Essaouira, where you can observe the fishermen at work and purchase fresh seafood from the bustling market. You will have 2 hours of free time to wander the area at your own pace and experience local Moroccan dishes.

After our time in Essaouira, we will regroup and head back to our initial meeting point, wrapping up a full day of exploration with a total of 11 hours spent on this memorable excursion.
