As you explore the magnificent architecture of this elaborate mausoleum, enjoy learning all about its past on a fascinating guided tour lasting around two hours.
Your driver will then take you to Agra Fort, an impressive palace complex with buildings in several different historic architectural styles. Marvel at the majestic red sandstone walled city as you hear about its almost 500 years of history on a guided tour of approximately an hour and a half. You'll then take a well-deserved break and savour a delicious buffet lunch in a local restaurant.
After eating, you'll visit Itimad-ud-Daulah, a small mausoleum built during the Mughal Empire and popularly known as 'the baby Taj'. You'll enjoy around an hour here exploring the beautiful tomb building and its grounds.
Next, your tuk tuk will take you to Mehtab Bagh, or the Moonlight Gardens. This 'charbagh' complex offers spectacular panoramic views across the Yamuna river to the Taj Mahal, as well as the large Dhobi Ghat or open-air laundry located nearby. Finally, before dropping you back off at your hotel or the train station, you'll explore a lesser seen side of Agra: the famous bazaars found in the city. A tuk tuk tour is the best way to do this, as bigger vehicles are prohibited from driving down the narrow market streets.
