Tour Highlights

We will convene at the designated time at the Tourist Office, located conveniently near the Spanish border. Our guided exploration of Alandroal will commence, centering on the remarkable Castle.

The Castle of Alandroal is set in a beautiful landscape and also features the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción. This exquisite church boasts baroque architecture and is the final resting place of Diogo Lopes de Sequeira, who was once the mayor of Alandroal. An interesting fact: he held the post of governor in Portuguese India from 1518 to 1522.

Next to the Castle, you'll find the stunning Fonte das Bicas, an elegant baroque fountain dating back to the 18th century, crafted from marble and enhanced with six lion-headed gargoyles. This architectural gem adds to the area’s historical allure. Nearby, the City Hall can be found, positioned adjacent to the Republic Square.

A brief stroll from the Town Hall will lead us to the Church of Misericordia, where a captivating tale awaits our discovery. Also, we’ll pass by the Casa de Pimentel and other significant landmarks.
