Desert Castles & Dead Sea Journey

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Amman, as we set off towards the eastern region of Jordan to embark on this exclusive tour. Here, we will explore two of the most significant desert castles within the country. Constructed between the 7th and 11th centuries, these structures served multiple purposes: as military fortifications, stops for trade caravans, and luxurious residences.

Our first destination will be Harranah Castle, established by the Umayyad caliphs, which stands as a pivotal illustration of early Islamic architectural style. You will wander through its impressive courtyard and various rooms, enriching your knowledge of the influences from Roman, Byzantine, and Sassanid cultures.

Next, we will make our way to Amra Castle, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once inside this medieval palace, a stunning display of 8th-century frescoes will greet you, featuring vivid hunting depictions, portraits of historical rulers, and intricate zodiac designs.

Following our exploration of the castles, we will proceed to the Dead Sea, a unique body of water flanked by Jordan, Israel, and Palestine, lying more than 400 meters below sea level. The extraordinary salinity and mineral content of the water create an environment where marine life cannot thrive, leading to its distinctive name.

You will have 2 hours of leisure time to immerse yourself in the Dead Sea, allowing you to reap the numerous health benefits that this site has been renowned for over centuries. Experience the effortless floating due to the high salt concentration—are you curious why it’s so easy?
