Pittacum Vineyards & Winery Visit

We will gather at the scheduled time at the entrance of Pittacum Vineyards & Winery, conveniently located behind the Parish Church of La Asunción de Arganza, to commence our guided exploration.

The tour will kick off with a walk through this venerable 80-year-old vineyard, where we will uncover how the Mencía grape variety significantly influenced the development of the winery. Engaging insights about the wines of El Bierzo and the restoration of the ancient vines will be shared along the way.

Following our vineyard exploration, we will step inside the estate's 19th-century manor house to examine its interiors and view the barrels used for wine aging. Notably, during the winery's construction, a Roman medallion of Bacchus and an amphora known as Pittacum were unearthed.

The highlight of the visit will undoubtedly be the wine tasting session, where participants will savor a Petit Pittacum and a Pittacum paired with a regional snack, enhancing the experience.

After immersing ourselves in the world of Pittacum's wines, we will conclude our 90-minute tour and bid farewell at the winery’s entrance.
