Your adventure commences at 10 am, when we will meet you at your accommodation in Barreal. From there, we will embark on an off-road jeep journey to the Calingasta Valley, home to the impressive Sierra del Tontal, often referred to as the foothills of San Juan.

We will trace the routes taken by the Dakar Rally competitors, a renowned event held in South America from 2009 to 2019. Our route will include passages through key stages of this thrilling race! Subsequently, we will approach the mountain range's region, where towering communication antennas rise above 13,000 feet.

As we continue our journey, we will take in the otherworldly beauty of the puna grasslands, synonymous with the unique landscapes of the Andean altiplano. After savoring the breathtaking views, we will visit an old silver mine that was operational during the presidency of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento.

Following our exploration, we will recharge with a delightful picnic lunch before heading back. Along the return route, more remarkable viewpoints along the 250 miles of the Sierra del Tontal will greet us, offering opportunities for memorable photos of these majestic summits. In winter, a thick layer of snow enrobes them, enhancing their magnificence.

We will pause once more halfway through for a light snack amid the natural surroundings. We plan to arrive back at your hotel in Barreal by 6 pm, concluding a day filled with exploration and adventure.
