Description
Explore the wine-making heritage of the Gironde by visiting a vineyard renowned for producing some of France’s finest wines. A delightful wine tasting experience awaits you!
Tour Options
When arranging your excursion to Saint Emilion from Bordeaux, choose between a wine-tasting experience at a Château Grand Cru or a family-operated vineyard.
Both selections include pickup from the Monument to the Girondins at Place des Quinconces, transportation, and the insights of a professional guide.
Wine Tasting Experience at a Family Vineyard (4 Hours)
We'll gather at the designated meeting location and, following a 40-minute journey, we will arrive in Saint-Émilion, where a guided exploration through the picturesque historic center, recognized as a World Heritage Site, awaits. You will also hear the intriguing tale of an 8th-century Benedictine monk who resided here for the last years of his life.
Next, we will head to a nearby family-owned winery, known for crafting celebrated Bordeaux wines. At this wine tourism site, depending on the season, we will stroll through the vineyards, view the barrel storage rooms, and learn about the winemaking process from grape harvest to bottling.
The tour will conclude with a tasting of two wines paired with a classic French aperitif featuring bread, cheese, cold cuts, and chocolate. After enjoying these delightful flavors, we will journey back to Bordeaux, arriving four hours after our departure.
Wine Tasting Experience at a Château Grand Cru Winery (4.5 Hours)
Upon meeting at Place des Quinconces, we will travel by minibus to the historic village of Saint-Émilion.
Throughout the tour, our guide will share fascinating insights into the region's winemaking craft, as we take in the vistas of vineyards and the cellars where the meticulously made wine bottles rest, a tradition upheld across generations.
Continuing the journey on the outskirts of Saint-Émilion, we will explore the cellar of a château and witness how the distinguished Grand Cru Classé wines are crafted—some of the finest in the region. The experience will be enriched with a tasting of four wines paired with a selection of traditional French products, including bread and fresh cheese.
After this gastronomic and vinous experience, we will proceed to the village center for a guided tour of Saint-Émilion. The old part of the town has earned recognition as a World Heritage Site, and during our walk, you will see why this distinction is well-deserved.
Ultimately, we will conclude our tour and return to Bordeaux after approximately 4.5 hours.
