Bratislava Tourist Train
Description
Discover the vibrant sights of the Slovak capital in a unique manner: aboard a historic vehicle. Experience the blend of tradition and history comfortably as you embark on this Bratislava tourist train journey.
Description
When you book your experience, you can choose from two distinct options. Regardless of your choice, both routes commence and conclude at the same point: Hviezdoslavovo Námestie, located in front of the iconic Slovak National Theatre (Slovenské národné divadlo). The available options are outlined below:
Castle Route (60 minutes)
Your adventure will commence in Bratislava’s city center, where you will take the Presporacik tourist train to visit the capital’s principal attractions.
During the ride, you will pass by St. Martin's Cathedral, known for being the largest and one of the oldest churches in the area, as well as Kammene nameste, or 'Stone Square', as you navigate through the historic center.
The train will ascend to Bratislava Castle, one of the city’s most emblematic structures. Here, the tourist train will halt for 20 minutes, allowing you to explore this ancient fortress and revel in the stunning views of the cityscape. With the help of your audioguide, you can delve into intriguing details about this medieval fortress located by the Danube River.
On your return to the city, you'll glide past SNP Most: the Bridge of the Slovak National Uprising, traveling alongside the second-longest river in Europe, the Danube.
Panoramic Route (95 minutes)
From your meeting point in the heart of the Slovak capital, your journey will first lead you to Slavin, a monument honoring the victims of World War II. After a 15-minute stop here, you will proceed to Bratislava’s magnificent castle, where another 20-minute pause allows you to admire its formidable stone structure and the panoramic vistas across the city.
As you head back to the original meeting location, you will encounter more of Bratislava's notable landmarks, including the Slovak National Theatre, the charming Church of St. Elizabeth, widely referred to as the Blue Church, and the Grassalkovich Presidential Palace.
