Trekking Overview

Prepare to delve into a remarkable segment of the Dominican Republic. We will meet you at your accommodation in the chosen pickup zone at the designated time. A minibus will transport us to the Los Tinajones trail. Midway through our expedition, we’ll make a notable stop to visit Mrs. Marcela, a skilled artisan known for her rodao (a type of biscuit), where you’ll uncover the secrets of her beloved rodaos.

Upon reaching the river trekking initiation point, you'll be equipped and introduced to the essential aspects of the experience. We will then journey into the lush forest, marveling at the distinctive tinaja pool formations and the unique flora native to this region.

By approximately 11:30 am, we will pause amidst nature for a light snack featuring cheese, rodaos, and a refreshing beverage. Post-snack, our adventure continues through caves and cascading waterfalls, with opportunities for the adventurous to take a leap off the rocks into the cool waters.

Following our aquatic escapades, we’ll head to the community of Nuestra Señora del Carmen for a classic lunch comprising flavorful beans, rice, chicken, and more.

Finally, we will make our way back to the starting point, returning approximately 5.5 to 10 hours after our adventure began.
