Activity Overview

At the scheduled time, we will gather at Overseas Highway, where a boat will be waiting to transport us to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Get ready to explore the incredible biodiversity found in these crystal-clear waters!

Our journey will take us to Molasses Reef, one of the region’s most famous reefs. The shallow waters here provide an excellent opportunity to see a diverse array of marine life living within vibrant coral structures. Here, you'll find yourself surrounded by corals, sea sponges, and an abundance of tropical fish.

Moreover, weather permitting, we aim to visit the renowned Christ of the Abyss Statue, a remarkable bronze sculpture standing nearly 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and located around 8 meters deep (26.2 feet) underwater.

This sculpture, a replica of a historic Mediterranean piece, was placed here in 1965 and has become an essential landmark for both divers and snorkelers. Witnessing this underwater monument, surrounded by schools of fish and coral, is a breathtaking experience that you won’t forget!

After spending 4 hours immersed in the stunning underwater environment of Key Largo, we will conclude our adventure as we return to the starting point.
