Horseback Riding to Lake Suesca

Our day begins at 9 am at the Sisga Dam in Chocontá. From this point, we will embark on a horseback ride towards Lake Suesca. Get ready to traverse the breathtaking landscapes of central Colombia where our saddled horses will be waiting.

Prior to setting off, we will provide a briefing on the activity and introduce the essential safety guidelines. Once prepared, we will mount the horses for a 35-kilometer (21 miles) journey through the picturesque Sisga River valley, making our way towards Lake Suesca, while passing by lush potato fields that enhance the environment.

Upon reaching a serene area along the lake's edge, we'll pause for a hearty picnic lunch. After replenishing our energy and enjoying a brief rest, we’ll take a different path back. This route will take us along the shores of Suesca Lake until we arrive at the historic northern railway station, which was operational until the mid-20th century. Next, we will navigate down through the Lechuza Canyon, located near Suesca. During this segment, we will stop at a quaint hostel to savor a coffee or light snack before wrapping up the ride.
