At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Colima and set off towards the La Campana archaeological site, located just a 10-minute drive from the heart of the city. Are you ready to uncover the fascinating history of this region? Let’s begin!

Upon arrival at La Campana, we will stroll through the remnants of pyramid foundations, ceremonial plazas, and historic aqueducts that showcase remarkable ancient engineering. This site is renowned for having the most sophisticated hydraulic system in the area. Over the course of an hour, each artifact we encounter will narrate stories of ancient lifestyles, spiritual beliefs, and the grandeur of that age.

Next, we will proceed to the city’s centre to visit the Regional History Museum of Colima, housed in a beautiful building dating back to the late 19th century. During a guided tour lasting from 1 to 1.5 hours, we will traverse through exhibitions that chronologically depict the evolution from pre-Hispanic civilizations to modern times.

As we explore, we’ll come across Colima clay figurines, animal-shaped ceramics, and the renowned Colima dogs, affectionately known as dancing dogs. Curious about why they were revered as protectors of the underworld? We’ll share their intriguing story!

Following this enlightening visit, we’ll embark on a scenic 40-minute drive south of Colima to the Póksika ecotourism centre in Coquimatlán.

Here, we will indulge in 3 hours of relaxation amidst nature, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the Peñitas River and surrounded by vibrant tropical flora. Feel free to take a refreshing swim and when you begin to feel hunger, a delicious meal featuring seafood, rice, salad, and lemonade will be served. What a memorable way to conclude our day!

In the end, we will return to your hotel, completing our journey about 9 hours after our initial pickup.
