As we stroll through the city, we will reach the San Sebastian neighborhood, located just west of the historical center. Here, we will visit the renowned San Sebastian Church, a highlight among the city's many sacred sites. Nearby, you'll find Calderón Park, a vast green area enveloped by key government buildings, including the Government Building, City Hall, two Cathedrals, and the Palace of Justice.
This serves as a smooth transition, allowing us to shift our focus from Cuenca's scenic streets to the impressive architecture of the city. We'll appreciate the striking view of both the Old Cathedral and New Cathedral, which stand proudly next to each other as iconic representations of the city. Our journey will include a visit inside the Old Cathedral, recognized as the largest in the nation, where you can marvel at the stunning pavilion adorned with gold leaf and pink marble. A visual delight awaits!
To wrap up our enriching adventure, we will stop by the Ethnographic Museum, where the diverse lifestyles of the various Ecuadorian regions come to life. The museum's exhibits explore the culture, art, and traditions of Cuenca and its surroundings.
