2-Day Stargazing Journey

Day 1: Departure from Ovalle to Quebrada Amarilla

Your adventure begins at 8 am with a pickup from your Ovalle hotel. From there, we will journey towards the stunning Quebrada Amarilla, a remarkable natural haven in the Chilean Andes. Upon our arrival, we will establish our mountain camp.

Once settled, we'll enjoy lunch before heading out on a thrilling hike through Quebrada Amarilla. This trek will cover approximately 3 to 4 kilometers (1.9 - 2.5 miles), offering breathtaking vistas of unspoiled valleys and the impressive Andean summits.

As the day transitions into night, we will return to base camp for dinner and an unforgettable stargazing session. Chile boasts some of the clearest skies globally, providing an excellent opportunity for celestial observations. A telescope will be available to enhance our views of the stars and planets.

Additionally, we will conduct an astrophotography workshop, equipping you with skills to capture stunning images of the night sky. After this enriching experience, we'll rest at the camp until the following day.

Day 2: Return Journey from Quebrada Amarilla to Ovalle

We will start our day at 8:30 am with breakfast at camp, followed by a new trekking adventure along the Quebrada Amarilla stream. This portion of the hike will take us up to a height of 3000 meters (9859 feet) after approximately 1.5 kilometers (1 mile), rewarding us with spectacular panoramic views.

Along the way, enjoy some snacks before we make our way back down to the stream for a lunch break. Ultimately, we will return to our vehicle, which will be waiting to transport us back to your hotel in Ovalle, arriving around 6 pm.

Accommodation & Meals

This tour includes one night’s stay in a mountain camp located in Quebrada Amarilla, where participants will sleep in camping tents.

Please be aware that meals are not covered by the tour cost; it is advisable to bring food for the duration of the trip.

Hotel Pickup Details

Transportation to the activity includes pickup from downtown hotels in Ovalle. For guests staying in more distant areas, please meet us at the designated time at the Plaza de Armas in the city center.
