Berlengas Islands & Caves Excursion
We will convene at Peniche Marina at the designated time to commence our excursion to the Berlengas Islands.
The journey includes a 30-minute voyage to the archipelago on a catamaran, where you can observe the fascinating marine life in the waters off Portugal’s coast. The Berlengas Islands are recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, making it a remarkable site for experiencing diverse underwater flora and fauna!
Upon arrival at Berlenga Grande, we will transfer to a smaller vessel equipped with a glass bottom which will take us to explore the natural sea caves of the islands. Enjoy a 30-minute ride that highlights the São João Batista Cave, the vibrant Blue Grotto, and the impressive Furado Grande, a vast natural tunnel that stretches 70 meters beneath the island, revealing a breathtaking bay. You will have additional time to roam the island along various hiking paths.
After approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes of navigating the Berlengas Islands, we will return to Peniche Marina to wrap up our adventure.
Guided Exploration of Berlenga Grande
Enhance your visit to the Berlengas Islands by selecting the option that includes a guided tour of Berlenga Grande. If you book this component, a walking tour will follow your cave exploration. Please be aware that this walking segment of the excursion is considered challenging.
We will allocate 50 minutes to discover the key attractions on this island, the largest of the Berlengas and the only one accessible to visitors. Prominent sights include the fishermen's houses, the lighthouse, and the historical São João Baptista Fort, which is open to entry for a fee of 1EUR per person.

On the day of the activity, we'll meet you at stand 3 of Berlengatur Berlengoest, (Marina de Peniche 2520, Peniche, Portugal) at the indicated time.
Important
- You must be at the meeting point 30 minutes before the start of the activity to validate your voucher.
- Please note that the activity starting at 2:15 pm will take place on a smaller boat called AulOrizonte.
- Please note that in order to enter the Berlenga island area you must pay a tourist tax to help with the preservation of the area. The prices are as follows: 3EUR adults, 1,5EUR children 7-17 years old and free for children under 7 years old.
- Please note that for the tours at 12, 9:15 am & 2:15 pm, the boat is a bit smaller
