Description
Embark on an enriching cycling adventure across Cork, where you'll explore key sights and iconic landmarks of this vibrant Irish city. Participants can select from a traditional bicycle or an electric bike to suit their preference!
Cork Bike Journey
We will convene at the designated meeting point, 33 St Patrick's Quay, to commence our eco-friendly adventure through the city on two wheels!
At a leisurely pace, we will pedal alongside the scenic River Lee, immersing ourselves in the maritime legacy that defines Cork. Our route takes us through vibrant streets adorned with colorful houses and expansive parks, unveiling the city's prominent attractions.
During the journey, several notable landmarks will greet us. Among these is the stunning St. Patrick’s Bridge, a charming structure from the 19th century that links the bustling heart of Cork.
Next, we’ll make our way to Emmet Place, where the esteemed Crawford Art Gallery is located, before cycling towards Fitzgerald’s Park. This green sanctuary, developed in 1902 during the International Exhibition, showcases the city’s rich cultural heritage.
Subsequently, we’ll arrive at the campus of University College Cork, where Neo-Gothic architecture and serene wooded paths create a lively environment infused with student energy. Our exploration continues as we visit Elizabeth Fort, a 17th-century stronghold perched on a hill that offers breathtaking views of Cork's historical center.
Our route will lead us to Grand Parade, one of Cork's oldest thoroughfares, renowned for hosting medieval markets and celebrations that contributed to its identity as the Rebel City.
We will conclude this 2.5-hour cycling tour by returning to our starting location, cherishing the various sights witnessed along the way.
