Tour Overview

A visit to the Bilbaínas Wineries is essential for anyone in Haro, as it represents one of La Rioja's most significant and historic wine producers. We'll convene at the Vinoteca Wine Bar, situated in the vibrant Station District of Haro, at the designated time.

Upon gathering, we will step inside this remarkable winery, established over a century ago by Santiago de Ugarte, recognized as the oldest bottling winery in La Rioja. The winery boasts an impressive 3,400 m² (36,597 ft²) of underground cellars, making it the largest in Haro and its vicinity!

As we journey through this historic winery, we will trace its origins and explore its evolution, uncovering its storied past alongside its current practices. We will learn about the winery's history, the distinctive qualities of its terroir, and the traditional methods utilized during the winemaking process.

To enhance our visit, we will engage in a tasting session featuring three wines, including selections from Viña Pomal, derived from the oldest vineyard managed by the Bilbaínas Wineries. To elevate this culinary experience, we will accompany the wines with a cheese platter. A fitting homage to the exquisite region of La Rioja!
