New Orleans Tour Overview
At the designated hour, we will collect you from your accommodation to kick off our journey through New Orleans. Our adventure begins with a leisurely walk along the banks of the Mississippi River, where we’ll explore the origin of this vital city in Louisiana.
As we delve into the French Quarter, a highlight will be Jackson Square, home to the Cathedral of St. Louis. Unique as a Catholic city within a predominantly Protestant nation, the French Quarter houses the oldest Catholic church in the U.S.. A short distance away lies the historic French Market.
Continuing our exploration, we’ll dive into the European influences that shaped the area. While the name reflects the Gallic invasion, our stroll will unveil its connections with Bourbon Spain.
Exiting the French Quarter via Esplanade Avenue, we'll come across century-old residences. This picturesque avenue of colonial homes leads us to City Park, recognized as the green heart of the city and the sixth largest urban park in the U.S..
City Park boasts exciting features, including golf courses, an art museum, and a sculpture garden. During our visit, we’ll also explore a cemetery, highlighting the intriguing burial practices unique to this city.
Before concluding our journey, we’ll wander through the Garden District, characterized by its historic mansions and magnificent oak trees. Additionally, we’ll witness one of the areas left scarred by the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Upon three hours of insightful sightseeing, we will return you to your hotel.
